Audience segments

Dynamic by default

A segment is a saved query, evaluated whenever it is used. Contacts flow in and out as their data changes. If you need a frozen list — for a legal export, say — take a snapshot, which is a one-off copy.

What you can filter on

• Attributes — country, lifecycle stage, plan, custom fields.
• Behaviour — opened, clicked, replied, commented, visited, within a rolling window.
• Campaign history — was or was not part of a named campaign.
• Source — how the contact entered the workspace.

Nesting

Segments can reference other segments. Engaged EU customers = EU contacts AND Opened in last 30 days. Orbit360 blocks circular references at save time.

Suppression

Every send checks the workspace suppression list — unsubscribes, hard bounces, and manual blocks — after segment evaluation. A suppressed contact never receives a message, regardless of segment logic.
